Meredith Blitz-Goldstein joins our practice as our Parent Support Liaison. Meredith has taken an active role in educating families and advocating for children with special needs since her son was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
From 2008-present, she has been a Board Member for the parent advocacy group C.H.I.L.D. (Children Having Individual Learning Differences) in Verona, New Jersey. She acts as the Workshop Coordinator to provide lectures and workshops for the community and families living with children with special needs. She also works directly with Verona families to facilitate the IEP/Section 504 process with the school district.
Meredith has also served as an Autism Ambassador for Autism, New Jersey. In 2013, Meredith testified in front of the legislature in Trenton, New Jersey to advocate on behalf of insured families with regard to the Autism Insurance Reform Law which went into effect in February 2010. She remains active on the committee currently working to ensure the mandated insurance coverage for families that benefit from Autism insurance coverage.
In addition, Meredith is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and works both in private practice and as an instructor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She has lectured to physicians, healthcare providers and graduate students about her experiences and has been published in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America regarding management of the uncooperative child in the dental setting. She also serves on the Craniofacial Team at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
