Paul N. Barger concentrates his practice on representing families in disputes involving New York and New Jersey public school districts, with a focus on special education litigation, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (“IDEA”), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and civil rights compliance.
Mr. Barger has appeared in many impartial hearings in New York and New Jersey as well as in Federal District Court and the United States Court of Appeals.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Barger spent five years in Illinois where he handled complex litigation and appeals. He has used his litigation experience to assist families in their disputes with school districts.
Mr. Barger makes frequent presentations to statewide organizations and to parent groups, where he discusses issues arising under the IDEA and Section 504.
