Private Schools

From formation, to expansion, and everything in between, private schools must be aware of the ever-changing legal requirements to operate their programs. Each state has different and sometimes confusing regulations in place, and it can be difficult for schools to remain in compliance.  Barger & Gaines assists not only with compliance, but all other matters impacting private schools.

We work closely with school leaders and trustees to address labor and employment issues, tuition disputes, school formation, and adherence with federal, state and local regulations. We are proud to represent a number of private special education schools delivering programs and services to students with special needs.

Charter schools have an additional, significant layer of requirements to consider given their status as public entities. Barger & Gaines can assist with the application process for forming and renewing charters and can work with charter schools to remain in compliance with the many state education laws.

For all of our private and charter school clients, we attend meetings, provide training to staff and administrators, and make ourselves readily available as a constant resource to the schools.
