Phyllis J. Lombardi is a special needs advocate, bringing her life experience and know-how to each of our clients while helping them navigate the sometimes challenging journey of being a parent. She is the proud mom of two beautiful boys — including one with autism — and is married for 33 years to her childhood sweetheart. Since her son’s autism diagnosis, Ms. Lombardi has spent the last 20 years empowering the special needs community while working towards providing her sons with the best opportunities to achieve a happy, successful and fulfilling life.
Always working to build resources for the special needs community, Ms. Lombardi created the Ardsley Special Needs Committee for the Ardsley School District and has held a number of positions including: board member for the Hudson Valley Family Advisory Council; Special Education Region Chairperson of the Westchester /East Putnam PTA; board member of ARC Westchester; and as a L.E.N.D. fellow family mentor for the Westchester Institute for Human Development, helping to create and launch their Building Bridges program. Of particular note, she is the administrator of one of Facebook’s most active pages, the “Special Mom’s Network,” where special needs parents can share ideas, information and encouragement with each other.
